“Wipeout” carries me through the vortex of swirling waves as the layers of blue water rush overhead. This sensation of floating has been recreated through the dynamic mark of the brush. Textural medium replicates foamy wave tips and vast sandy bays. My art recreates a moment inspired by life’s adventures.

‘Kaleidoscope’ is my impression of a starry night sky alive with movement and light – the moment when you look up and see the stars are scattered across the Milky Way.

This work draws on the rich biodiversity and vibrant textures found in the Fijian tropics. The use of different sizing in brushstrokes and the layered shades of green mimic the density of the landscape, showcasing the wild abundance of greenery.

This aerial design was inspired by the formations of rock pools I explored along the bay during summer. I recall seeing stacked stones awash with a mossy surface that glistened in the light, whilst bubbles rose and burst in tandem.

Gestural brush strokes and textural detail capture my memory of moving through this space feeling the water rise up to wrap around me. The large swirling brushstrokes capturing the rhythmic pull of the tide against the mossy surface and transforming the sensation into a visual form.

Whilst the different sizes of brushstrokes replicate the delicate interplay of shadow and sunlight beneath the surface, as each shadow alters your point of view of what’s beneath the surface.
